Gjino Mjeda - handloom
Handicraft loom production is a time-honored tradition of the city of Shkodra. The Mjeda family has inherited this craft for 150 years, being today the only citizen family of Shkodra that still produces works on the loom, in its workshop.
Our activity was reestablished in 1992. The ability to produce with the loom makes us feel confident in this field, because our path is based on tradition and many years of experience.
The fabric and its weaving has been for the Albanian woman one of the things that mothers inherited to their daughters from generation to generation. Chastity of spirit alternated with charm of workmanship, have often become the pride of being worthy to inherit the passion, from one hand to another. Already turned into tradition, the preservation of these values counts for us, as a very precious thing.
This tradition makes us more aware that the fabric we produce must be unique and handicraft. Every process is made by hand. While producing, we are based on the traditional patterns and colors that these fabrics inherited. Also, we have created a new line of products, not neglecting the ones that are currently most in demand, so that they will be liked by everyone.
The company's most popular products are tablecloths, curtains, bedspreads, blankets, scarves, bags and pieces for dresses, shirts, etc. The quality of the fabrics (cotton, silk) and the colors are guaranteed. All the company's cotton products are machine washable up to 90°C.
